For the second yr in a row, the island of Palawan has been named the most effective island on this planet by American magazine Travel + Leisure.
In Travel + Leisure’s reader survey released on Tuesday, July 11, Palawan received the very best rating of 93.15. Meanwhile, the Philippines’ other hottest destination, Boracay, ranked third within the survey with a rating of 89.67.
According to the magazine, Palawan won the highest spot “because of its hidden lagoons, vibrant ocean life and opulent rustic resorts.”
One reader even described Palawan as “…the most beautiful place on earth.”
“There’s nothing like immersing yourself in the natural wonders of this Philippine archipelago, which many of our readers have described as ‘rustic,’ ‘romantic,’ ‘affordable’ and ‘relaxing,’” Travel + Leisure said.
The magazine said Palawan is a “multiple winner” on the list, having topped the list for the primary time in 2013.
“…With verdant mountains, a five-mile underground river, limestone caves and spectacular diving, its charm is as clear as its turquoise waters,” noted Travel + Leisure.
According to the magazine, readers rated the islands on their activities and sights, natural attractions and beaches, food, friendliness and overall value.
The World’s Best Awards survey also asks readers to weigh in on their views on the most effective cities, islands, cruise ships, spas and airlines, amongst others.
