The 2017 World Street Food Congress, considered one in all Asia’s largest street food festivals, attracts hawkers and gourmets from everywhere in the world. The five-day gastronomic festival can be held on the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds from May 31 to June 4.

You will certainly be amazed by the 28 stalls with their very own specialization in serving street food because it offers over 40 different international street dishes from USA, Germany, Mexico, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, India, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and naturally regional dishes from the Philippines.

Aloo Tikki (Manla Chaat – India)

Aloo Tikki with Manla Chaat is an Indian dish made with boiled potatoes, onions and various curry spices. “Aloo” means potato and “Tikki” means a cutlet or croquette that’s crispy on the surface and soft on the within. It is topped with various curries, roots, paneer, carrots, radishes and various sauces, making a spectrum of flavors from sweet, sour, spicy and spicy.

This insanely good pancake from WSFC 2016 is back in recent flavors like Red Velvet! Martabak is a crispy and chewy pancake within the Indonesian-Chinese style (Ming Chang Kueh). The classic martabak uses only ground peanuts and chocolate, but their trendy version is hidden under a pile of varied chocolates and sweet toppings reminiscent of Kit Kat, Orea and Nutella.

Crispy mung bean pancake with seafood, vegetables and fish sauce is product of rice flour, water, turmeric powder, fatty pork, diced green onion, bean sprouts and shrimp. When it involves something old but recent, Bacolod-based celebrity chef JP Anglo brings a taste of his hometown with a creative tackle chicken inasal. His version is pita bread crammed with various grilled chicken parts that could be present in the nasal joint when eating – from chicken meat to the small intestines and liver! Don’t forget to make use of his spicy garlic sauce and spicy langka liver dip, which replaces langgaw (local vinegar).
