Last week. Indonesian company Batik Air confirmed that the service to Perth will begin on June 21 in a press release from Andy Saladin, public relations manager of the airline’s parent company, Lion Air Group.
“Full-service Batik Air will open a new twice-daily service from Denpasar to Perth starting June 21,” Saladin said.
Batik operates Boeing 737-900 ER and Airbus A320 aircraft and flies to 31 domestic destinations in addition to Singapore.
The business and economy class airline was recently approved to fly to Europe, and on November 17 it passed a rigorous IATA operational safety audit.
Flights depart Perth at 8.30am and 6.20pm and return at 4.30pm and 12.20pm. Both flights will probably be operated by Boeing 737-900ER aircraft with 172 seats.
Late last yr, Batik received approval from the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority to supply these services and is the second member of the Lion group to supply flights to Australian destinations. It joins Malaysian three way partnership Malindo Air, which operates services between Perth and Kuala Lumpur.
Business class seats in Batik are spaced 45 inches apart, and economy seats are a generous 32 inches apart. All passengers are supplied with free entertainment and meals on board.
Standard promotional online economy fares start at $402 round-trip, while business class fares start at $640 round-trip.
Batik joins Garuda Indonesia, Indonesia AirAsia and Jetstar on the Bali route.
Using an Airbus A320 aircraft, Batik Air will offer a business class service with three rows of seats in a 2-2 arrangement, with a journey time of lower than 4 hours each way. -inch, slightly than fully flat beds as is typical on longer flights.
