On May 1, Indonesian flag carrier Garuda Indonesia moved its international operations to Terminal 3 of Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, previously from T2. It was commemorated by the departure of flight GA820 to Kuala Lumpur and the arrival of GA823 from Singapore.
Garuda Indonesia moved its domestic flights to Terminal 3 in August 2016, becoming the primary airline to serve Terminal 3. Other members of the Skyteam alliance will join them after Eidul Fitri in July this 12 months. In addition to Garuda, other airlines which are a part of the Skyteam alliance include Aeroflot, Aerolineas Argentinas, Aeromexico, Air Europa, Air France, Alitalia, China Airlines, Eastern China, China Southern, Czech Airlines, Delta Airlines, Kenya Airways, KLM, Korean Air, MEA, Saudia, Tarom, Vietnam Airlines and Xiamen Air.

The latest president and CEO is optimistic that Terminal 3 International is not going to only be a step towards improving transportation infrastructure and services for global competitive advantage, but in addition a milestone in the event of tourism in Indonesia.


Garuda will progressively operate 26 check-in counters and can increase the capability of the Executive Lounge to 350 business class seats and 56 top notch seats, which is double the present capability in Terminal 2.



By July, the airline will operate 36 self-service counters and 10 boarding gates.
The opening of T3 helped Soekarno-Hatta Airport win the excellence of being the world’s most improved airport in 2017 from Skytrack, a UK-based consultancy that runs an airline and airport review and rating website.

The latest terminal offers over 45,000 square meters of retail space and an aisle layout that permits passengers to buy efficiently at exhibitions.
Terminal 3 will probably be connected to the remaining of the airport’s terminals by Skytrain, allowing passengers to simply change terminals.
