In a social media post on Platform X (formerly Twitter), Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin announced the entire variety of foreign tourists arriving in Thailand. As of July 25, greater than 20 million foreign tourists have visited the Land of Smiles, a 34% increase in comparison with the identical period last 12 months.
According to Srettha, this significant growth is the result of assorted government policies supporting the tourism sector, reminiscent of visa-free programmes, expansion of air connectivity and enhancements to tourist attractions.

The primary sources of tourists arriving in Thailand are China (4,065,109), followed by Malaysia (2,837,922), India (1,186,288), South Korea (1,073,792) and Russia (996,990).
According to Sermsak Pongpanich, Thailand’s Minister of Tourism and Sports, within the last week alone (July 22-28), 716,631 foreign arrivals were recorded, or a mean of 102,376 per day, which implies a rise of 1.04% in comparison with the previous week.
School holidays in short-haul markets reminiscent of South Korea, Japan and Taiwan contributed to a weekly increase of 0.85%, while long-haul markets saw a 1.57% increase attributable to the beginning of summer holidays in Europe and the Middle East.
Total international arrivals this week (29 July – 4 August) are expected to stay stable, due to summer holidays in Europe, government rest of travel rules and a rise in flights.
The Thai government has set a goal of 36.7 million foreign tourist arrivals in 2024, with estimated revenue expected to succeed in about 3 trillion baht ($83 billion).
