Total global wealth rose by 6.4 per cent within the yr to mid-2017, the fastest pace since 2012, to $280 trillion, a rise of $16.7 trillion, based on the eighth edition of the Global Wealth Report.
This reflected broad-based gains in stock markets, accompanied by similar gains in non-financial assets, which this yr exceeded pre-crisis levels in 2007 for the primary time.
Wealth growth also outpaced population growth, with average global wealth per adult rising by 4.9 per cent to a brand new record high of US$56,540 per adult.
In the Southeast Asia region, Singapore ranks first on the earth by way of household wealth per adult and first in Asia.
The average wealth per adult in Singapore has increased from US$115,560 (S$157,092) per adult in 2000 to US$268,780 in mid-2017.
