oh! The construction of Terminal 4 at Changi Airport has been accomplished

Construction work on Changi Airport’s newest passenger terminal constructing, Terminal 4 (T4), has been accomplished, Changi Airport Group (CAG) announced on Friday (Dec 16).

The next stage of development might be furnishing the inside and preparing it for operation.

Construction work on the terminal, positioned on the southern end of Changi Airport, began in early 2014. The terminal opening is scheduled for the second half of 2017.

In addition to the two-story passenger terminal constructing, construction included the development of two multi-story parking lots with 1,700 parking spaces, a two-story taxi rank and three vehicle and pedestrian footbridges.

A 69-meter-high control tower was also built to facilitate air traffic controllers in managing aircraft traffic, he added in an announcement.

At the height of construction work, 4,000 employees worked on the T4 project.

Yam Kum Weng, CAG Executive Vice President for Air Hub Development, said: “The last three years have been an intense and exciting journey for CAG and our project partners.

“We worked closely with architects and contractors to ensure development progressed as planned and witnessed our vision transition from architectural design to implementation.”
