Singapore ranks first in Asia when it comes to average annual salary

A financial report by Insider Monkey shows that Singapore has the very best annual salary in Asia, ahead of other wealthy countries corresponding to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

Morgan McKinley reports that the common full-time employee in Singapore earns around S$5,783 per 30 days, or S$69,396 per 12 months.

According to Insider Monkey, though salaries within the tech industry are expected to say no in 2023, some roles in Singapore have seen significant increases. For example, data analysts’ salaries will increase by 11.3 percent, followed by systems analysts (8.27 percent), cybersecurity engineers (8.24 percent) and quality assurance specialists (8.01 percent).

According to a report by Nodeflair, which analyzed greater than 422,000 data points, the rise in data scientist salaries is linked to the growing interest in generative artificial intelligence.

The report also attributed the rise in cybersecurity engineer salaries to rising cyber threats within the Asia-Pacific region.

Other Asian countries with the very best average annual salaries include the United Arab Emirates ($51,390), Qatar ($50,868), Kuwait ($49,640) and Taiwan ($48,309).
