In September 2024, NIKI launched into the long-awaited Buzz World Tour, marking a milestone in her international music profession. The tour kicked off on September 5 in Toronto, starting an ambitious global journey spanning North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
The name of the tour was taken from her latest album “Buzz“, a group of warm and moving folk-rock songs that were born out of a deep personal journey. While creating the album, NIKI went through an intense identity crisis, going through a period of trial and error that left her feeling like she was on the verge of a transformative moment.
Thanks to an electrifying setlist consisting of about 20 songs, NIKI wins the hearts of 1000’s of fans at each stop of the tour. Her performances were met with great enthusiasm, demonstrating her ability to deeply connect with audiences from different cultures and backgrounds.
Dressed in an informal yet elegant outfit, NIKI commands the stage together with her guitar and powerful vocals. Her performances transcend entertainment, inviting audiences to participate in a cathartic musical experience and inspiring them to release their personal struggles through music.
After completing her North American and European shows, NIKI will embark on a tour of Asia, Australia and New Zealand starting in February 2025. Each performance is a testament to her global appeal and artistic versatility.
This tour became a journey for Niki to showcase herself internationally while carrying her Indonesian identity. Niki is greater than just entertainment; she is an inspiration. Every note, every lyric is a journey towards self-discovery, resilience and authenticity.
NIKA’s musical journey
Born Nicole Zefanya on January 24, 1999, NIKA’s musical journey began in childhood under the influence of her mother’s church singing.
NIKI began her profession by uploading covers of songs on YouTube. In 2012, she began performing the song “Like you” (or “Like You”) with Gavin MJ in an Indonesian music program. She then released her debut single “Start your day with love” (or “Start your day with love”) in 2014 under Sony Music.
In the identical 12 months, NIKI also won the Cornetto Road to Fame competition, which gave her the chance to support Taylor Swift’s “The Red Tour” in Jakarta.
NIKI then continued her musical education at Lipscomb University within the United States. There she met the young Indonesian rapper Rich Brian, who introduced her to the 88rising label in 2017. She released two singles titled “See U Never” and “I Like U”. These songs were included on her 2018 debut Extended Play album “Zephyr”.
NIKA’s profession as a singer gained worldwide recognition after joining 88rising. She has also collaborated with other artists equivalent to Rich Brian, Warren Hue, Honne, Higher Brothers and End of the World.
Her album “Nicole” brought her further fame with hits equivalent to “High School in Jakarta”, “Backburner” and “Take A Chance With Me”. The album incorporates songs that tell NIKA’s stories from the past.
NIKI made history as the primary Indonesian singer to perform at Coachella in 2022, performing her hits and even performing an area Indonesian song.”Perfect” (or “Perfect”). An appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in May 2024 further cemented her status as a world music icon.
