New Russian visa strategy: strengthening of ASEAN connections through tourism

Russia is considering visa leisure policy for several Southeast Asia countries as a part of its efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations and attract more tourists to the country.

This movement also reflects the Russian technique to increase economic involvement within the ASEAN region.

According to reports from various sources, Russia explores the mechanisms of visa release for individual tourists from Malaysia and group travelers from Vietnam.

This initiative is comparable to the principles already implemented for China and Iran, wherein the journey by group through licensed operators receives visa facilitation.

In addition, Russia continues to be expanding access to e-vis and promotes the Discover Rosean campaign in ASEAN countries, including Indonesia.

Vietnam also took a strategic step, expanding his invasion of Russian residents to March 14, 2028.

According to this policy, Russian tourists may stay 45 days before applying for e-visa. This agent goals to strengthen bilateral relations and attract more visitors from Russia.
