Indonesia is now officially a member of the brand new Bank Development (NDB), a multilateral development bank established by the nations of BRICS – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
The commercial was issued directly by the President of Prabowo Subianto on March 25, 2025, after meeting the President of NDB Dilma Vana Rousseff on the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
Joining NDB: Increasing development
Indonesia’s decision to affix the brand new development bank (NDB) has not been disregarded. President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the choice of Indonesia to affix the brand new Bank Development (NDB) is according to the country’s vision when it comes to accelerating national development transformation.
He expressed gratitude for the invitation to develop into a member and perceives NDB as a strategic partner who can increase the economic growth of Indonesia to the next level.
The President of NDB Dilma Vana Rousseff with satisfaction accepted this decision, noting that Indonesia’s development priorities strictly according to NDB concentration areas, especially in infrastructure projects, logistics, railways, highways, ports, airports and digital connectivity.
Rousseff also emphasized the achievements of Indonesia within the energy sector, especially in the event of biofuels, which in response to her makes Indonesia a robust strategic partner. She praised the successful implementation of the Biodiesel B40 Indonesia, indicating that Brazil reached B17 only after years of development.
77 projects supported by NDB
Rousseff revealed that NDB received a listing of 77 proposed projects from Indonesia and is able to support their implementation. She also recognized a transparent long -term vision of the event of Indonesia and well -organized strategies that drive economic growth.
Although the main points of the project are still discussed, this cooperation is predicted to hurry up national development and increase the worldwide competitiveness of Indonesia.
By joining the NDB, Indonesia is now standing with other member countries, corresponding to Russia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, opening recent possibilities of financing strategic projects.
Next steps
The government continues the executive process and meets the necessities of membership for NDB. However, there isn’t a certainty when Indonesia’s membership officially enters into force.
