Many Filipinos who grew up within the 90s may know the name Kim de los Santos. She was an enthralling and sweet teenage girl who in those years honored television on Saturday afternoon in the favored Filipino series.
However, for younger generations that got here after this era, it will not be so familiar. This is because Kim de Los Santos experienced a dramatic turning point in her life. From the brilliant lights of the Philippine show business she selected a very different path, eventually working in a psychiatric clinic within the United States. He will turn out to be a teen star
Kim de los Santos, whose full name is Kim Nicole Gehring de los Santos, was born in New Jersey, USA. He has a Filipino-American roots from her father, Hormidas de Los Santos and her mother, Dolores.
Her acting profession began on the age of just six years from the primary film by Rosend, in 1989. Her amazing performance on this film brought her an award for the very best children on the Philippines Film Academy.
In the mid -Nineties, Kim de Los Santos strengthened her status of teenagers, playing in Gonzaga at TGIS at GMA Network, it was also during this program that she met her partner of the love band on the screen, actor Dino Guevarra, who later became his true partner.
Life journey
Her affair with Dino Guevarra didn’t last long. When their relationship became toxic, Kim de los Santos made a shocking decision, especially for her fans, left the entertainment industry in 2004, at the height of fame.
She left the Philippines and moved to the USA and not using a diploma. In the early years she undertook modest works, comparable to mop floors, inserting insurance cards in envelopes and answering phones. For Kim de los Santos it was a type of detoxing – a likelihood to flee from the pressure of her old life and rebuild from scratch.
After years of looking for the soul, 28-year-old Kim began to query her life: What do you wish? Where are you? What is your goal? These reflections aroused her dream of becoming a nurse.
Thanks to her father’s support in paying for tuition fees, Kim de los Santos trained as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) and commenced working on the Houston clinic, while maintaining work in a restaurant to satisfy the top. Her strong determination pushed her further – ultimately she won the title of Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and specialized as a practice of psychiatric mental health nurse.
Despite the discrimination and health challenges along the best way, Kim de Los Santos persistent and located her place in the sector of mental health, a career deeply associated together with her personal healing journey.
Return to your hometown
Recently, Kim de Los Santos was not in a romantic relationship and focuses on self -healing. The testimony of her ability to forgive when she reconciled with Karen, the present wife of Dino Guevarry, and even made friends together with her, marking her real turning point previously.
In July 2025, she returned to the Philippines and joined again together with her former colleagues TGIS and Anna Karenin. The assembly also served a tribute to the late Red Sternberg, whom she called her “past love.” The congress caused nostalgia amongst fans who remembered the bond they divided during show business years.
