China has received its first foreign order to export bullet train technology after Thailand approved a $5.5 billion high-speed rail project to attach Bangkok with southern China.
Construction has already began in Laos, however the Thai rail segment has struggled for years over financing, loan terms and protective labor laws in Thailand, in line with Chinese state television CNTN.
The high-speed railway is scheduled to start out operating in 2021.
The order from Thailand is something of a breakthrough for China’s multibillion-dollar high-speed rail technology, as China’s attempts to export bullet train technology have stalled attributable to political, financial issues or fierce competition from Japan.
China can also be trying to supply a bullet train on the New Delhi-Chennai route and has began a feasibility study for it.
China has already built an enormous bullet train network connecting most of its cities. It has the world’s longest railway network, which will probably be 22,000 km long by the tip of 2016, which is roughly 60% of the overall. network.
