SBS will co-produce the Indonesian version of “Running man”!
On November 29, on the SBS headquarters in Seoul, a contract was signed between SBS and the Indonesian company FCL for the primary season of the Indonesian version of “Running Man”.
FCL, an investment company for the Indonesian conglomerate Sinar Mas Group, the fourth financial company in Indonesia, engaged in OTT (over-the-top media services), content production and distribution.
The first season of Indonesia’s “Running Man” shall be produced and can premiere in mid-2020 on major Indonesian TV and OTT networks.
This happens right after success Vietnamese version of “Running Man,” which premiered in April. Indonesia is now the third country outside Korea, after China and Vietnam, to air its own version of “Running Man.”
As Southeast Asia’s most populous country, Indonesia will play a key role in the long run extension of the Korean wave within the region.
SBS Global Contents biz team leader Kim Yong Jae said: “SBS has officially entered the biggest market in Southeast Asia after China and Vietnam, which is Indonesia.

Since we began the business after three years of research and investigation, we are going to succeed irrespective of what and can work hard to contribute to the event of Hallyu.” Jimmy Kim, CEO of FCL’s OTT brand Genflix, said: “I expect ‘Running Man’ Indonesia to make an enormous splash in OTT, which is rapidly growing in popularity in Indonesia, and on this recent try and mix OTT and broadcasting.”
“Running Man” Indonesia can even work on a content commerce business through a partnership with Indonesia’s leading e-commerce brand Tokopedia.
SBS can be considering premiering ‘Fantastic Duo” on MNC TV and co-produce “Good Friends” (literal title), which shall be broadcast on the second Indonesian channel SCTV in the primary half of 2020.
