Aircraft manufacturer Boeing and Lion Air Group have agreed that the latter can be the primary passenger plane received Boeing 737MAX9 planes.
The aircraft can be operated by Thai Lion Air, a subsidiary of Lion Air Group, to strengthen existing routes and open latest domestic, regional and international routes, Thai Lion Air CEO Darsito Hendro Seputro said in an announcement on Thursday.
“The Boeing 737 MAX 9 is suitable for our growing operations in Thailand,” Darsito said, quoted by compass.comadding that that is in keeping with the airline’s expansion plan to open latest flights to Bangladesh, China and India.
He added that Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft can be operated each as passenger and cargo aircraft.
Lion Air was also the primary airliner so as to add a Boeing 737 MAX 8 to its fleet. It also announced that it will soon receive 50 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft.
“Lion Air Group is a single-aisle airliner that operates the Boeing 737 MAX,” said Kevin McAllister, Boeing’s general manager of economic aircraft.
