Shopee, Lazada and Tokopedia were probably the most used and downloaded e-commerce apps within the third quarter of 2019 in Southeast Asia, joint examination by App Annie and iPrice Group showed.
The study added that Lazada ranked first in Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, while Shopee was the leader in Vietnam and Indonesia.
Both were probably the most downloaded within the region and had the best variety of monthly energetic users. Their web sites were also most visited in five of the six Southeast Asian countries. In Indonesia, probably the most visited e-commerce site was Tokopedia, which has a market share of 25% of web traffic, followed by Shopee, which has 22% of the market share within the country, as quoted: Entrepreneur.com.
iPrice also published an e-commerce map rating the highest 50 e-commerce players in Singapore based on their average quarterly traffic, mobile app rating, social media followers and variety of employees. Data was collected in October 2019.
Recent test showed that Southeast Asia’s web economy is predicted to achieve $300 billion by 2025 with the appearance of smartphones, the meteoric rise of web startups and the event of futuristic technology within the region.
A joint study by Google, Temasek and Bain & Co found that the net economy crossed the $100 billion mark in 2019 and has tripled in 2019 over the past 4 years, driven mainly by e-commerce and passenger transport.
The iPrice Group and App Annie study further found that Indonesia and Vietnam had the best e-commerce traffic, while users from Singapore and the Philippines visited online shopping sites the least of the six Southeast Asian countries.
