Singapore is the primary country in Southeast Asia to have electric vehicle chargers at gas stations.
Launched on Monday (August 19) by Royal Dutch Shell, it is going to be available at 10 Shell gas stations in Singapore by October this yr, representing about 20 percent of its retail network within the city-state, the corporate said in a press release carried by Reuters.
These 10 locations are:

Priced at S$0.55 per kWh, the chargers typically provide 0 to 80 percent charge in about half-hour and are compatible with most electric vehicles in Singapore.
A Shell-commissioned study of electrical vehicle consumer behavior found that 52 per cent of Singaporeans are discouraged from buying or using an electrical automotive because they imagine there should not enough charging stations in Singapore, the corporate said.
“To achieve national climate action goals, Singapore needs more cleaner energy solutions to sustainably power lives, businesses and transport,” said Aw Kah Peng, national chairman of Shell Companies in Singapore.

According to Technical breakdownThis is the primary Shell DC fast charger from the newly acquired company Greenlots . Los Angeles-based Greenlots was founded in Singapore; and Shell is considered one of the biggest foreign investors in Singapore. Both Shell and Greenlots have a presence in Singapore.
Singapore is promoting using electric vehicles, especially for car-sharing and passenger transport platforms. The island city-state is expanding its electric vehicle infrastructure to fulfill anticipated demand as passenger carriers and business fleets switch to electric vehicles.
