Ong was arrested in Alicante on April 16 and appeared in court three days later.

On Wednesday, the day by day La Verdad reported that a CCTV camera captured footage of a gray Nissan Qashqai entering the parking zone of the Los Collares restaurant on April 9 on the RM-422 highway at 11:28 p.m.

The automotive stopped at an almond grove and remained in the identical place for 18 minutes until 11:46 p.m., then drove away in the identical direction from which it got here. Fang’s body was present in the grove on April 10.

Police traced the Qashqai to a rental company, which identified Ong as the one who rented the automotive on April 3. The automotive was still in his possession on the time of his arrest.

Authorities also obtained footage confirming the route Ong took from his hotel in Alicante to Abanilla on April 9. A search by CNA on Google Maps showed that the Los Collares restaurant is roughly 70 km, or an hour’s drive, from Alicante.

According to La Verdad, when Ong was arrested on the Eurostars Lucentum hotel, the Qashqai was parked in a close-by public parking zone and the keys were found on it.

She added that the suspect bought a vacuum cleaner and the Cieza Magistrates’ Court judge overseeing the case noted that the necessity to clean the rental automotive was “very suspicious.”

On Tuesday, the newspaper reported that the soles of limited-edition Nike shoes value 935 euros ($1,000) that were in his hotel room matched traces found on the crime scene.

The Civil Guard sent a sample of the soil present in the soles for laboratory evaluation to find out whether it matched the soil found on Fang’s body.

They are also trying to check this sample with sandstone present in the Abanilla area.

Court documents obtained by La Verdad also detailed other evidence against Ong.

The judge noted what the suspect was wearing on the evening of April 9, when Fang was last seen, and when he returned several hours later.

CCTV cameras on the Eurostars Lucentum hotel where Ong was staying captured the 43-year-old leaving at around 5.45pm wearing a hoodie and black trousers.

He returned to the hotel at roughly 2:06 a.m. on April 10, wearing jeans and a blue sweater.

Ong, who married in 2012 and owned several corporations in Singapore, was scheduled to satisfy his Ukrainian girlfriend at the identical hotel the following day, La Verdad reports.

According to a different newspaper, Levante El Mercantil Valenciano, Spanish police have already proven that Fang and Ong’s cell phones were together in Abanilla on the day of her death.

She added that she had not experienced sexual violence and that that they had known one another for a few years.

The judge said it was “indisputably” that each Singaporeans were in the identical area at the identical time on the day of the crime, based on data provided by mobile operators in Abanilla.

Ong is currently in custody pending investigation and can remain in prison because of the seriousness of the crime. He can be considered to pose a flight risk.

The judge noted that Ong is a Singaporean with no roots in Spain and has “sufficient economic capability” to go away the country.

Both the prosecutor’s office and the Spanish lawyer Manuel Martinez employed by Fang’s family demanded that Ong’s pre-trial detention be prolonged.

A report by Levante El Mercantil Valenciano indicated that the killing can have had an “economic motive,” adding that Fang was reported to have transferred the cash to an unidentified third party.

Sources also told La Verdad in regards to the “economic motive”, confirming the report by Levante El Mercantil Valenciano, while adding that she participated in a form of investment fund.

However, it can’t be ruled out that the murder was committed for sentimental reasons.

“We hope he can get through this as quickly as possible,” Fang added. “We still should take my sister in when she comes home.”

Fang will take over the family flower business and hopes that his father will have the opportunity to proceed working there to maintain his mind occupied.
