Either way, the Tesla Cybertruck will likely be launched and sold in Indonesia. This was stated by Rudy Salim, president and director of Prestige Motorcars, a number one automobile dealer that has long sold Tesla electric cars within the Asian country.
In a recent statement to Use TVSalim noted that Prestige will proceed its efforts to bring Tesla’s full range of electrical cars to the Indonesian market. The executive added that Tesla’s upcoming vehicles, equivalent to the next-generation Roadster and the powerful Cybertruck, will occur definitely be present on Indonesian roads.
“Prestige Motorcars continues to actively and seriously promote the electric car industry. Starting from the electric variant of the Renault car, which will be present on the streets of Indonesia, to the latest series of Tesla electric cars, i.e. Roadster and Cybertruck, which will certainly be present in Indonesia,” Salim noted.
In addition to promising to bring the all-electric pickup truck to Indonesia, the Prestige Cars executive noted that he’ll do all the things in his power to bring the Cybertruck to the country as soon as possible. He also expressed some optimism in regards to the vehicle, stating that The Cybertruck is aggressively priced at in regards to the same level because the Model 3, Tesla’s current least expensive vehicle.
Prestige Motorcars already sells quite a few Teslas within the local market. In 2015, the corporate made headlines by importing the Model S sedan, although the vehicle was priced about twice as much as within the United States. The same goes for the Model 3 Standard Range Plus, which is currently in development sold within the country for 1.5 billion rupees (roughly $107,000).
Interestingly, Tesla and Indonesia seem like under investigation potential links in the availability chain. There have been quite a few reports in recent months suggesting that Tesla could establish a foothold in Indonesia, provided that the country is home to the world’s largest nickel reserves. Elon Musk has highlighted Tesla’s need for nickel up to now, with the CEO urging any nickel producer available in the market to contact the electrical automobile maker to strike a fruitful and long-term deal.
