“The Philippines clinched the prestigious title of Best Tourist Destination in the sixth edition of the Golden Dragon Award bestowed by the Russian-Asian Association of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RAUIE).
The accolade was formally conferred upon the nation during a ceremony graced by the Philippine Ambassador to Moscow, Igor Bailen, on December 15.
In his address, Ambassador Bailen extended an invitation to members of the European Union, urging them to acknowledge the Philippines as a prime tourism and investment hub.
He emphasized the allure of the Philippines’ vast archipelago boasting over 7,000 sun-kissed islands, offering warm weather throughout the year.
Additionally, Bailen underscored the government’s strides in fostering an open and transparent business landscape, citing recent legislative measures that incentivize collaborations with foreign entities.
Notably, he highlighted the country’s progressive economic reforms, particularly in enhancing basic public services and allowing up to 100% foreign ownership.
RAUIE President and Chairman Vitaly Mankevich lauded the Philippines for its dedication, innovation, and steadfast efforts in facilitating direct flights between Moscow and Manila.
Expressing optimism, Mankevich envisioned the positive impact of such flights on bolstering the Philippine tourism sector. He also commended RAUIE’s role in fostering conducive conditions for an increased influx of Russian tourists to the Philippines.
Mankevich emphasized that beyond mere recognition, the award symbolizes a testament to the Philippines’ hospitality and attractiveness as a global tourist destination.
Serving as a pivotal platform for governmental and private initiatives in Russian and Asian business realms, RAUIE stands as a vital local ally in advancing the Philippines’ progress through mutually beneficial trade, economic, and investment partnerships.”
