Indonesian National Army (TNI) Commander Admiral Yudo Margono has made a firm commitment to deploy a naval hospital ship to offer crucial medical assistance to Palestinian victims within the Gaza Strip. He emphasized the high level of readiness of each the personnel and the naval fleet, confirming that they’re fully prepared for the duty ahead.
Admiral Yudo stated in his own words: “KRI (Indonesian warship) is prepared for this mission as a result of its status as a brand new ship. I actually have complete confidence within the crew and medical staff who’ve undergone extensive preparations for this humanitarian mission to pursue.” It is essential to notice that before taking any further motion, TNI must first make a concerted effort with the Egyptian government to make sure the sleek and protected deployment of the hospital ship in waters in off Gaza. In this regard, Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto revealed that Indonesia had made a suggestion to send a naval hospital ship to Palestine. This offer was made during talks with the Palestinian ambassador to Indonesia, Zuhair Al-Shun. Minister Prabowo shared these intentions after a closed-door meeting on the Ministry of Defense constructing in Central Jakarta. Moreover, Prabowo demonstrated his personal commitment to making sure the success of this mission by expressing his willingness to go to Cairo. His visit to Cairo is geared toward facilitating coordination of the delivery of a hospital ship and various other types of humanitarian assistance to the besieged Gaza Strip in Palestine. He said: “With the president’s consent, I’m able to go to Cairo to coordinate with the Egyptian Minister of Defense and possibly establish contact with various key figures within the region.” This underlines the Government of Indonesia’s commitment and determination to support humanitarian efforts within the Gaza Strip.
