The 63-story 8 Shenton Way tower, designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill, will stand on the intersection of Singapore’s Central Business District and Marina Bay, the famous Tanjong Pagar district and the developing Greater Southern Waterfront.
With a series of garden terraces that bring lush tropical scenery to the sky from Shenton Way, Anson Road and Maxwell Road, the tower will rise to 305 meters and develop into Singapore’s tallest skyscraper and its first supertall, quickly becoming one of the crucial recognizable buildings in city landmarks.
8 Shenton Way shall be a vibrant, 24/7 center with large public spaces, offices, shops, a hotel and luxury homes with unrivaled panoramic views of the South China Sea, a cultural heritage area to the north and proximity to the Tanjong Pagar district.
The skyscraper combines cutting-edge post-pandemic design elements with a big selection of amenities and services befitting considered one of Asia’s most vital international destinations.

“Designed specifically for Singapore’s tropical climate, this constructing shall be considered one of the world’s first post-pandemic mixed-use towers with health and well-being as key design considerations. Aiming to fulfill town’s latest and most stringent sustainability standards, our project will set a brand new paradigm for durable and stylish high-rise design in Singapore and beyond.

The design was motivated by nature and sustainable development. The design of this project is modeled after bamboo forests and reflects other natural features corresponding to plants growing vertically within the wild. SOM was created to cut back greenhouse gas and operational emissions, from bamboo applications to zero waste terracotta production.
8 Shenton Avenue is in search of the biggest sustainability certification within the region, aiming to realize Green Mark Platinum certification from the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore (BCA) (such as a 55% reduction in energy consumption in comparison with the benchmark).
The city government’s Central Business District Incentive Program was first applied to the 8 Shenton Avenue project, which incorporates a wide range of uses including business, office and residential apartments, luxury homes, hotels and mixed-use spaces.
The architecture of 8 Shenton Avenue will benefit from the constructing’s unique location in town center, while being a powerful skyscraper with a modest area.
To reduce material use and carbon emissions during construction, among the site’s infrastructure and foundations shall be reused in the brand new constructing. Energy-saving glass shall be used to construct the façade, and recycled aggregate produced using low-emission technologies shall be utilized in the concrete structure. Where possible, materials shall be certified by the Singapore Green Building Council.
The roadway shall be revitalized with public performance and event facilities equipped with shops, seating and bike racks. By developing the realm stretching from the road to the constructing, a smooth, green pedestrian corridor shall be created.
There is an outside restaurant area on the second floor. It is surrounded by lush landscaping and plants specially chosen to draw birds and butterflies. In total, the project covers over 10,000 square meters of public green space, which is rather more than the realm of the whole facility.
