The Vietnamese government announced on Sunday that it’s considering the prospect of making a high-speed railway covering the whole country, the potential cost of which shall be as much as $58.7 billion (August 14).
A press release issued by the Vietnamese government says the Southeast Asian country’s transport ministry will propose constructing a 1,545-kilometer railway line to the Politburo of the ruling Communist Party of Vietnam next month.
Vietnam is increasing investment within the country’s transport infrastructure to support the rapid development of its economy. Vietnam is an industrial powerhouse within the region.
The government estimates that the primary two sections, with a complete length of 665 kilometers and a complete cost of $24.72 billion, shall be opened to traffic by 2032. They estimate that the whole project shall be accomplished between 2045 and 2050.
