Southeast Asian airlines win big on the Flight Experiences Global Awards

Airlines from Southeast Asian countries won the Global Passenger Choice 2019 competition. They receive five- and four-star official airline rankings, the very best rating in the primary airline rating program, based solely on verified and authorized passenger reviews.

APEX Passenger Rewards are based on passenger feedback collected through APEX’s TripIt® partnership with Concur®, the world’s top-rated travel app. Passengers rated over 1,000,000 flights from almost 500 airlines from around the globe on a five-star scale between July 2017 and June 2018.

Singapore Airlines and Panasonic Avionics Corporation (Panasonic) have won the ‘Best Personalization Innovation’ award on the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) Awards 2018.

With myKrisWorld, Singapore Airlines’ personalized in-flight entertainment platform, customers can resume partially watched movies and TV shows, sync their preferences and playlists between flights, receive content recommendations, and transfer their in-flight experience from theirs via the airline’s Companion app.

Hideo Nakano, CEO of Panasonic Avionics Corporation, said in: official statement“Personalization is revolutionizing the way airlines engage with customers, and this award shows how Panasonic and Singapore Airlines are working together to push the boundaries of passenger comfort.”

The airline also received a five-star rating from Global Airlines within the official airline rankings, alongside Indonesia’s Garuda Indonesia.

“This award is, of course, a recognition of all the commitment and hard work of our employees who provide the best service to our customers, allowing Garuda Indonesia to retain this title for the second year in a row,” director Nikodemus P. Lampe told Garuda Indonesia in an announcement quoted By Tribunews.com.

“We are extremely proud of the results of our Official Airline Passenger Ratings program through TripIt,” said APEX CEO Joe Leader in statement.

“Of the nearly 500 airlines rated globally, less than nine percent were rated by passengers at the highest five-star airline level, and only another 14 percent achieved the prestigious four-star airline level.”

Thai Airways International and Vietnam Airlines have received the celebrated four-star global airline rating, a standing only achieved by 23 airlines worldwide. Bangkok Airways and Silk Air received five-star rankings for major regional airlines, while Malindo Air and Philippine Airlines received 4 stars.

Meanwhile, Citilink and Thai AirAsia achieved the very best achievable award globally, earning 4 stars out of a maximum of 4 stars for low-cost carriers.
