“There is no change to the U.S. travel advisory, which remains at Level 1, the lowest of four,” the statement said.
According to the United States Office of Consular Affairs, Level 1 is the bottom safety and security advisory level, from Level 1 to 4, and Level 4 means “travel prohibited.”
At level 1, travelers are to follow the same old precautions in force within the country, he added.
The U.S. Department of State website shows that Malaysia has been at Level 1 since its last update on July 24, 2023. Additionally, country information on Malaysia shows that the 2 sides have healthy bilateral ties.
“Economic ties are strong and people-to-people exchanges have a long history. “Malaysia has a diverse democracy and is an important partner in U.S. engagement in Southeast Asia,” it said.

Earlier this week, Gilley said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that it was not protected to travel to Malaysia.
He said on the social media platform that he left Malaysia as a consequence of security concerns attributable to the “Islamo-fascist mob stirred up there by the federal government.”
Recently, the University of Malaya (UM) invited Gilley to talk, which sparked controversy.
Gilley allegedly claimed that in his speech, Malaysia called for a “second Holocaust against the Jewish people” and downplayed the country’s ties with the US.
After the cancellation of all events involving Gilley by the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, the academician returned to America.
Sparking much more outrage, he wrote that he wouldn’t accept reimbursement for his travel expenses from the university and would as a substitute ask the general public to fund his expenses through a web based platform.
“[Gilley’s] there are too many posts on social media concerning the safety of traveling in Malaysia. This is irresponsible and should cause anger amongst all Malaysians,” UM said in an announcement.
