What do you think that? This five-star airline offers live music at an altitude of 10,000 meters

Indonesian national flag carrier Garuda is taking music to the skies with a series of live acoustic live shows on domestic flights, the airline said.

Passengers shall be serenaded at an altitude of 10,000 meters as a part of a program geared toward attracting millennials “who want a distinct flight experience,” airline spokesman M. Ikhsan Rosan told AFP.

The carrier held its first in-flight concert on Wednesday, with two musicians performing to a captive audience on board a flight between the capital Jakarta and the vacation island of Bali.

Garuda said that for select flights, sets shall be 10 to quarter-hour long and can give attention to promoting emerging talent.

While this may increasingly be an unforgettable flying experience for some, it shouldn’t be everyone’s approach to rejoice.

In 2017, US airline Southwest introduced live shows on some flights, which was met with mixed reactions from passengers.

Some travelers said they preferred minimal human interaction during flights and said music would distract them from sleeping or reading.

Garuda said it had launched extensive consultations to make sure the live shows didn’t pose a security risk.

“If there is a risk of turbulence, the singer will be directed back to his chair,” Rosan said.
