Startups on the move in Vietnam’s social media market

Vietnam’s social media market has boomed over the past decade and there is no such thing as a sign of slowing down anytime soon, say representatives of the Vietnam Social Media Corporation.

VSMC is one in all the leaders within the social media segment in Vietnam, having successfully defeated international giants resembling Google, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Microsoft.

Founded in 2007, the corporate relies within the capital Hanoi and pursues a core business strategy of meeting the needs of the younger generation of computer users through three primary products: ACC, Ciao and Dore.

ACC is a social network aimed specifically at people obsessed with Japanese manga and animation. Ciao is a national destination directory and site finding service.

Dore is a self-developed comic book publishing company for mobile devices, available on 3G and Wi-Fi networks.

Another up-and-coming startup is NCT Corporation, which was founded in 2008 and was originally called Nhaccuatui Corporation. According to Nhan The Luan, its first product was a music sharing website where customers could share their favorite music with family and friends.

In 2009, the corporate decided to expand into e-commerce, and nava.vn was born as the primary skilled B2C website in Vietnam. Nava.vn has quickly gained popularity in the web community and shows promise for further growth in future sales and profits.

In 2010, the web dating site viss.vn was introduced and quickly attracted online fans. So in only two years, the corporate developed three major products, experienced triple-digit growth, and grew to roughly 35 employees.

But that is undoubtedly not the top.

To achieve the marketplace, you will need to first achieve the workplace, says The Luan. As a startup, one of the daunting challenges is recruiting top talent—the identical talent that leading corporations like Facebook and Google are attempting to recruit.

Vietnam Communications Corporation is one other leading web startup company in Vietnam, offering the very best products in online content, e-commerce, social media, promoting networks and mobile value-added services.

Nguyen The Tan, CEO of VC Corp, boasts that it’s the biggest ecosystem of web and mobile services in Vietnam.

VC Corp provides its clients with a big selection of online portals. Her sites include Kenh14, Afamily, GameK, Soha, CafeF, Muachung, Muare, Rongbay, Enbac, Sohaphim, Sohatv, Sannhac, Admicro.

According to The Tan, several of the corporate’s web sites are among the many top 100 most visited web sites in Vietnam.

Since 2012, the corporate has obtained most of its funding from Intel Capital, Intel’s global investment, mergers and acquisitions organization, which invests significantly in modern startups and technology corporations all over the world.

Finally, the start-up VTC Technology & Digital Company, a subsidiary of Vietnam Multimedia Corporation, has been officially operational since January 2006. Its success can largely be attributed to its young, creative employees, says director Nguyen Thanh Hung.

VTC Intecom is one in all the leading social media corporations in Vietnam, whose primary strength lies within the digital content segment. It’s a startup on the move, says Thanh Hung, with big plans for future growth in Vietnam – a market with unlimited potential.
