According to Credit Suisse Research Institute’s “Global Wealth Report 2021,” total wealth worldwide increased 7.4% in 2020, with individual wealth increasing 6% to $79,952 per adult.
Globally, the variety of millionaires increased by about 10 percent to 56.1 million, while the full variety of ultra-high net price individuals (over $50 million in net price) increased by 24 percent to 215,030 – the very best rate since 2003.
“Wealth creation in 2020 was largely resilient to the challenges facing the world thanks to actions taken by governments and central banks to mitigate the economic impact of Covid-19,” the report said.
Growing wealth within the Asia-Pacific region
In Asia, the variety of high net price individuals (HNWI) and ultra high net price individuals (UHNWI) reached 15.6 million and 57,318 respectively.
By 2025, the region will likely be home to 26.7 million HNWIs and 99,000 UHNWIs, a rise of 71% and 73% respectively.
China leads Asia’s wealth creation with 5.3 millionaires in 2020 – second only to the United States – and expectations for this number will almost double to 10.2 million by 2025. The country also boasts 28,130 UHNWI, and in keeping with forecasts, this number will increase by 85% to 51,920.
