On Thursday, Hamzah told reporters on the state police headquarters on Penang Road that the three suspects were in custody until June 3 and the 67-year-old was released on bail.

He added that the statements of several other witnesses were also recorded.

Last week, police launched an investigation right into a derogatory message mocking Islam that was printed on a pizzeria receipt.

Superintendent Kamarul Rizal Jenal said the incident allegedly occurred on Kenari Avenue around 3:05 p.m. on May 15.

He said an investigation revealed that an order was received through the Domino app that contained offensive words within the remarks section of the order.

A photograph of the receipt was then circulated on May 16 on X (formerly Twitter).

“We do not tolerate discrimination or aggression of any kind, whether directed against our team, customers or members of our community,” Domino’s said in an announcement last Thursday.

Domino’s added that appropriate measures were taken against each the shopper and the worker involved.

“We are deeply disappointed that a customer made a hurtful and offensive comment while placing an order.

“We are also disappointed that one of our team members felt it was appropriate to share this information, including a customer’s personal information, online,” it said.

The case is being investigated pursuant to Art. 298 of the Penal Code and Art. 14 of the Act on Offenses for offending religious feelings and using offensive or insulting words with the intention of frightening a disturbance of the peace.
