The humble island of Camiguin (cah-mee-geen) within the Philippines is now within the highlight because of a well-made tourist video that has gone viral on the Internet.
As of this writing, the video has been viewed by 871,000 people and the reception has been overwhelmingly positive.
It’s easy to see why.
Titled “No Words,” the film begins with a tourist describing Camiguin as small, quiet, and seemingly uninteresting… and quickly learns that it’s anything but boring.
When she explores the island with a guide who doesn’t speak, she, too, is perplexed.
Traveling in a small plane discovers the fantastic thing about the island, and as she discovers the Tuasan Falls, enjoys local delicacies and joins the Lanzones festival, her fears and former judgments about Camiguin quickly disappear.
World famous travel website, lonely planet, describes Camiguin as a “little gem” with an “impressive silhouette” comparable to Hawaii and Maui.
With over 20 cinder cones over 100 m high, Camiguin has more volcanoes per square kilometer than some other island on earth. Camiguin offers the possibility to climb a volcano and a seemingly infinite supply of jungle waterfalls and cold and warm springs.
As reported ABSCBNthe video is an element of the local government’s #FeelCamiguin campaign and was broadcast just in time for the thirty eighth Lanzones Festival, going down on October 22-31.
“No Words” is produced by James de la Vega. It was written by Benson Logronio and directed by E. R. Alviz.
GMA News Online reported that J-mee Katanyag and Marco Augusto Simene appear as tour and tour guides. Simene is from Camiguin and works within the provincial government’s accounting office. This is his acting debut.
