According to British insurance company AllClear Travel Insurance, Changi Airport is ranked because the fifth most luxurious airport on the planet, just behind Sydney International Airport in Australia.
In addition to Changi, the list also includes Southeast Asia’s top airport, Suvarnabhumi International Airport, which got here in at number 7. Changi scored 61 points, while Suvarnabhumi International Airport scored 55 points across all categories assessed.
Of the highest 20 airports, Dubai International Airport was probably the most luxurious (83 points), followed by London Heathrow Airport within the UK (82 points) and Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar (73 points).
The rating is predicated on an in-depth evaluation of 1,800 airports worldwide, considering criteria comparable to the variety of designer stores, access to four- and five-star hotels, exclusive lounges and luxury amenities comparable to champagne bars and caviar cafes.
While Changi scored highly in several areas, its rating was hampered by its performance in the posh hotel category. However, the presence of luxury brands and other amenities contributed to its high position.
On the opposite hand, Thailand’s Suvarnabhumi Airport lost a whole lot of points as a result of the dearth of champagne and caviar available before departure and the limited variety of luxury hotels near the airport.
Who hasn’t heard of Changi Airport – considered one of the world’s busiest airports, which continues to excel in providing exceptional travel services. Changi is greater than only a transfer point, it’s a destination in its own right, designed to create a stress-free environment. Its lush landscapes, the sounds of waterfalls and a cushty atmosphere make a layover at Changi Airport a pleasing travel experience.
Most of the world’s 20 most luxurious airports are positioned in Asia, with airports within the Middle and Far East dominating the list.
In North America, only three airports made it into the highest 20: New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in eleventh place, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in sixteenth place, and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) in seventeenth place.
