The Philippines is planning to construct a big stadium that can host international stars resembling Taylor Swift until 2028The decision comes after the country was excluded from Swift’s highly acclaimed Eras Tour, with Singapore being the one stop in Southeast Asia on account of an exclusivity agreement between tour organiser AEG and the Singapore government.
Philippine lawmaker Joey Salceda criticized the deal, saying it was “not something good neighbors do.” In response, Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) has announced ambitious plans construct a stadium inside walking distance of Clark International Airport (CRK) in Pampanga.
CIAC President and CEO Arrey Perez revealed project details on the Build Better More Infrastructure Forum in New Clark City. The proposed stadium would cover about 40 hectares and is estimated to cost P32 billion (about $570 million). The project is predicted to be a public-private partnership, attracting interest from local and international investors from Singapore, the U.S. and the Philippines.

Perez stressed the necessity for a brand new facility, citing traffic problems brought on by the Philippine Arena, the present home of major events. He stressed that the brand new stadium wouldn’t only increase Clark’s appeal but in addition increase passenger traffic and airline activity at CRK.
While entertainment isn’t the first focus of the CIAC, Perez expressed hope that the brand new complex can be ready for Taylor Swift performances by the point construction is complete, noting the Filipinos’ deep passion for music.
The Philippines isn’t alone in its response to Singapore’s exclusive cope with Swift. In March 2024, Thailand’s prime minister also expressed his desire for the country to change into a serious hub for international concert events and festivals, following Singapore’s example.
