‘World’s Oldest Man’ Discovered in Indonesia Celebrates 146th Birthday

A person from Indonesia who claims to be the oldest one who ever lived celebrated his 146th birthday.

Mbah Gotho, who comes from a small village in Central Java province, has documents that show he was born on December 31, 1870, and the Indonesian Birth Records Office confirmed this information.

If true, it might earn him the title of oldest person on this planet, a title currently held by French centenarian Jeanne Calment, who died on the age of 122.

During the celebration, family and neighbours gathered at the common-or-garden home to mark the occasion, and Mr Gotho smiled as they sang him a birthday song.

According to sources, the elderly Indonesian man managed to blow out all of the candles in a single go.

When Mr. Gotho was previously asked the key to an extended life, he replied, “The recipe is simply patience.”
