Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that electric vehicles (EVs) shall be the primary selection because the official fleet to move ASEAN leaders and delegates in 2025. The announcement was made during a forum titled ‘Energy Sector as a Catalyst for Sustainable and Inclusive Socio-Economic Growth ”, which took place on October 28.
The decision, recently approved by the Cabinet, reflects Malaysia’s strong commitment to sustainable energy development and the clean energy transition. Therefore, the federal government will strive to secure as many electric vehicles as possible.
Anwar explained that using electric vehicles shall be more economical in comparison with fossil fuel vehicles.
