Indonesian company AQUA has officially unveiled an all-new label-free bottle constituted of 100% recycled and 100% recyclable plastic, as a part of its commitment to make a huge effect within the war on plastic waste. It is the primary bottle in Indonesia made from 100% rPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate), which suggests it’s produced without using virgin plastic.
The recent bottle goals to make AQUA completely round; wherein the bottle becomes a raw material to be utilized in recent goods and services, which suggests eliminating unnecessary packaging; is designed to be safely reused, recycled or composted; and ensuring that the fabric produced stays within the economy and never becomes waste or pollution.
The recycled bottle will turn into available in February 2019, and distribution might be expanded to other parts of Indonesia to make sure greater impact. We hope this can stimulate and encourage consumers to recycle more, and help people make recycling a lifelong habit.
In addition to the addition of the product portfolio, the most recent 100% rPET packaging is an element of AQUA’s move to extend recycled plastic content in all products. So far, on average, their products already contain about 25% rPET plastic. In 2025, AQUA plans to extend the rPET content to 50% in all products.
The recent 1.1 liter packaging has an embossing on the bottle, making a standard sleeve unnecessary. This move will make the bottle 100% recyclable and reduce waste used plastic in every bottle.
AQUA’s parent company, Danone, recently announced a series of latest commitments and actions to make sure its packaging becomes 100% circular and speed up the worldwide shift towards circular packaging.
AQUA also goals to work directly with consumers to extend recycling rates through a brand new movement titled “#BijakBerPlastik” or “Be smart about plastic.” Through this move, AQUA is committed to supporting pioneering technologies and social business programs to wash up plastic waste so that each one packaging is 100% reusable, recyclable and compostable by 2025, while increasing the share of plastic recycled content in bottles from 11% to 50% by 2025, and expand its school program to achieve 5 million children and campaign for recycling education, in addition to activate consumer recycling awareness programs targeting 100 million consumers by 2025
