Indonesia’s Citilink has been certified as a 4-star airline by Skytrax

The latest Skytrax rating is now available. Although there usually are not many changes to the list of five-star airlines, there’s something latest on the list of four-star airlines.

Citilink (a subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia) has achieved a 4-star low-cost airline quality rating from SKYTRAX, a global air transport rating organization. The 4-Star Low-Cost Airline Certificate was awarded to Citilink during a ceremony held on February 8, 2018 on the Singapore Airshow.

This 4-star rating for the low-cost airline is a mark of quality distinction, confirming high standards of product and staff service in various rating categories, each for the on-board and airport environment. Citilink has developed and improved its quality standards for services over the two years since their initial assessment.

Commenting on the Citilink certification, Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted said: “Achieving a 4-star rating within the low-cost airline category is an ideal achievement for Citilink and we congratulate them on achieving this standard. Citilink Indonesia CEO Juliandra Nurtjahjo said: “This shows that despite Citilink Indonesia, it is a low-cost airline offering best-in-class service. This certification represents global recognition and has become an essential asset in expanding our operations regionally,” said Juliandra shortly after receiving a four-star Skytrax rating on the Singapore Airshow 2018 in Singapore.

“Citilink Indonesia will certainly provide the best service by maintaining its newly obtained four-star Skytrax certification,” said Juliandra.

Citilink is a low-cost airline subsidiary of the Indonesian national carrier Garuda Indonesia. In 2017, Citilink Indonesia added five latest domestic routes, namely Jayapura, Kendari, Gorontalo, Ambon and Silangit, and one international path to Dili, East Timor. There has been significant improvement in Citilink passenger growth in Indonesia over the past five years. In 2012, Citilink Indonesia recorded 2.8 million passengers, which increased to five.3 million in 2013. Again in 2014 the variety of passengers skyrocketed to eight.2 million and in 2015 it reached 9.5 million passengers, in 2016 the number was 11.8 million passengers and in 2017 Citilink Indonesia transported 12.6 million passengers.
