To have fun Youth Pledge Day in Indonesia, #AksiMudaJagaIklim is initiated

Jakarta, October 27, 2021 – EcoNusa Foundation launched a youth collaboration campaign called #AksiMudaJagaIklim to commemorate Youth Pledge Day in Indonesia. The great #AksiMudaJagaIklim campaign, which will likely be held concurrently in 76 locations across Indonesia on Thursday (October 28), is an actual motion by young Indonesians to guard forests and ocean ecosystems from climate change.

On Wednesday (October 27), the #AksiMudaJagaIklim press conference was held under the slogan Common actions: Let’s protect the climate together, Blue of the ocean, Green of the earth. Bustar Maitar, CEO of EcoNusa Foundation, Dr. Kusdiantoro, S.Pi., M.Eng., Plt. Head of the Research and Development Department and Dr. Kusdiantoro, M.Sc. S.Pi., plt. The speakers also included Directors of the Research and Development Department.

Indonesia is affected by rising air temperatures, erratic droughts and rainy seasons, and extreme weather conditions akin to powerful storms. These serious symptoms of the climate problem should function a catalyst for young Indonesians to appreciate the necessity to protect the environment, especially forests and oceans, and begin speaking out about it.

According to Bustar Maitar, CEO of the EcoNusa Foundation, the worldwide problem is real and we must reply to it by working together to avoid climate change any further. “To raise awareness of the current and future climate problem, collective movements, especially among young Indonesians, to protect natural resources should be supported and encouraged,” Bustar added.

According to the outcomes of the 2020 Census, Generation Z (8-23 years old) and millennials (24-39 years old) now make up about half of Indonesia’s total population. This shows that young Indonesians can create positive change. For the sake of the longer term of the planet, including changes in higher management of natural resources.

According to M.Sc. Dr. Kusdiantoro S.Pi. The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is committed to developing the maritime and fisheries sector based on the blue economy strategy and it’s believed that growth could be achieved while preserving coastal and marine ecosystems.

“We hope to make a positive impact on the ecology, as well as provide inspiration and benefits to the community through this collaborative movement,” he said.

According to Bryan Auriol, coordinator of #AksiMudaJagaIklim, #AksiMudaJagaIklim events are held concurrently in 76 locations across Indonesia, the three major ones being Jakarta, Makassar and Ambon. “Tomorrow #AksiMudaJagaIklim will include 10 implementation partners, 19 supporting partners and 109 communities,” he added.

Tree planting, mangrove planting, beach and river cleansing, green mussel planting, coral reef transplantation, film screenings and other #AksiMudaJagaIklim events will likely be held on October 28, 2021. #AksiMudaJagaIklim asks young Indonesians to translate the Youth Promise into concrete environmental actions that could be absorb on a regular basis life to have a positive impact on the environment and global climate.
